Afterbrawl 1.0
for Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Afterbrawl is a stage replacement pack for Super Smash Bros. Brawl that includes 23 additional stages, mostly from Brawl mods and Smash Bros. fangames that came out after Brawl did – hence the name. No codes are required, and this pack is designed so it can either coexist with the Classic Expansion Pack or work on its own.
My criteria for including stages in this pack were:
Any stage from Brawl still present (essentially unmodified) in both Brawl- and Project: M would not be replaced – 19 stages in all
Any stage included would be one that appears in one of the following:
A Smash Bros. mod (Brawl-, Project: M, or Melee: SD Remix) – 17 stages
A Smash Bros. fangame (Super Smash Flash 2, Super Smash Bros. Crusade, or Super Smash Land) – 5 stages
If you use the optional Custom SSS code, an icon will be added for the Online Practice Stage. (This allows an “extra” stage slot if you aren't using the Stage Roster Expansion System, but it wouldn't help you very much if you did – in that case, the bottleneck would be on the stage select screen itself, not the number of slots.)
Requirements:
Wii or Wii U console (does not need to have any kind of homebrew installed)
An NTSC-U copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl
An SD card (2GB or less, unless you're using Riivolution)
This pack does not require any special codes to be enabled (except for the File Patch Code, which is always required for Gecko OS users.) However, there is an optional Custom SSS code in the “Codes (optional).txt” file, which re-orders the stage select screen so that the new stages are on the second screen and the Brawl/Melee stages are on the first one.
Beginner instructions (if you don't have any Brawl hacks installed yet):
Remove all Stage Builder stages from your SD card and your Wii. (You can back them up on another SD card or on your computer – they're in /private/wii/app/RSBE/st.)
Copy the “codes” and “private” folders and the “boot.elf” and “gameconfig.txt” files to the root of your SD card.
Once in Brawl's main menu, load Afterbrawl by inserting the SD card and going to Options > Stage Builder. Press A (for “Launch Game”) when Gecko OS loads.
If you don't need to use the Stage Builder method (i.e. you have the Homebrew Channel already), you can re-enable Stage Builder by deleting /private/wii/app/RSBE/st/st_080805_0933.bin from the SD card and replacing /codes/RSBE01.gct with the file “EnableStageBuilder.gct” in the same folder.
To use this pack along with Classic Expansion Pack 5.4:
Install the Classic Expansion Pack using its instructions. (Using the version with SSE stages is recommended, to avoid a bunch of duplicates.)
Copy the files in Afterbrawl's “module,” “stage/melee” and “sound/strm” folders to the corresponding folders on your SD card. Keep the RSBE01.gct file included with the Classic Expansion Pack, though.
Replace your common5 (in system), mu_menumain.pac (in pfmenu2) and info.pac (in info2) with the files in the “UseWithCEP” folder included here.
Both packs include SSE: Jungle, but the UseWithCEP common5 replaces Afterbrawl's SSE: Jungle icon (over Spear Pillar) with an icon for Trophy Tussle. To install Trophy Tussle, copy the STGTENGAN_*.pac files in the Classic Expansion Pack's “Extras” folder to your SD card, and replace both H06.brstm and H08.brstm with copies of Y07.brstm.
