Classic Expansion Pack 6.1s
for Brawl– 3.Q
This version of the Classic Expansion Pack is an add-on for Brawl– 3.Q, containing 37 additional stages that can be used in multiplayer mode. The selection includes stages from Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo 64), Super Smash Bros. Melee (GameCube), and stages from previous versions of Brawl–.
These stages have been combined into a pack that adds them to the Brawl stage roster, without replacing any existing stages. This is done with the help of Phantom Wings' Stage Roster Expansion System, a code that gives the framework for adding stages to Brawl. The pack serves a dual purpose: it is fully playable out of the box, but it also provides a framework for people to add their own custom stages to the game. To replace the stages and stage icons in this pack, you can try my Stage Manager tool. (The MenSelmapMark game logos are re-used between stages; you can save a little space and make them invisible by replacing each MenSelmapMark.* with a 4x4 black square.)
This pack contains several Wii music files (.brstm), which replace certain obscure tracks (mostly from The Subspace Emissary) and are reassigned through the use of codes to play on several of the added stages.
Official KC-MM thread for the Classic Expansion Pack: http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=20291.0
Requirements:
Wii or Wii U console (does not need to have any kind of homebrew installed)
An American copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl
An SD card
Brawl– 3.Q from http://brawlminus.net
Instructions:
Remove all Stage Builder stages from your SD card and your Wii. (You can back them up on another SD card or on your computer – they're in /private/wii/app/RSBE/st.)
Install Brawl– to the SD card.
Copy the “codes” and “private” folders from the Classic Expansion Pack to your SD card, replacing existing Brawl– files in those folders. If you're asked to merge a folder, choose yes. If you're asked to overwrite a file, choose yes for that too. (If you have custom portraits or stage icons in common5.pac, you should back that up first.)
Once in Brawl's main menu, load Brawl– by inserting the SD card and going to Options > Stage Builder. Press A (for “Launch Game”) when Gecko OS loads.
If you had something besides stage icons in your old common5.pac that you customized and want to keep:
Copy your old common5.pac to /private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/system/common5.pac, overwriting mine – or don't copy mine over yours in the first place :)
Replace MiscData[80] inside sc_selmap_en with the MiscData[80].brres file in the folder “If you want your own common5 or mu_menumain”.
Notes:
Any additional changes I made to the stages as they were originally posted on BrawlVault are noted in bold, italicized text.
All stages will be available on “random”, regardless of whether they are enabled on the Random Stage Select screen. You can turn this off by removing the Enable Random Expansion Stages code from Codeset.txt and making a new GCT file from it.
All of the stages and songs have been rearranged since the last Classic Expansion Pack. Additionally, stages present in Project M have been updated, along with a few others.
Note: these stages do not appear in this order on the stage select screen – they are mixed in with the stages provided with Brawl– 3.Q.

Brawl– 3.3 |
A17 Mario Bros. |
Mario Bros. |
STGFAMICOM |
I've never been able to put a stage based on Mario Bros over a random slot. Brawl– 3.Q put Metal Cavern here; that's been moved to STGCUSTOM18.
You can replace music for these stages
by putting .brstm files in the pf/sound/strm folder with the
appropriate names. For example, to replace the Venom music, put a
file in pf/sound/strm named Z58.brstm.
You can replace the stages
themselves by replacing the .pac file in the pf/stage/melee folder.
For example, to replace the Metal Cavern stage, you would put the
stage .pac file you want to use in pf/stage/melee and name it
STGCUSTOM18.pac. If the stage is not compatible with the included
.rel file (you can often tell by the filesize – Final
Destination .rels, for example, are 14232 bytes), you'll also need to
put an appropriate .rel file with the matching name or number in
pf/module. (http://opensa.dantarion.com/wiki/Stage_Module_Files)
Note: For a module file to work, it must belong to the stage that your new stage is based on (often Final Destination) AND be modified so it is compatible with the stage you are replacing (e.g. STGCUSTOM## or STGPLANKTON).
Module files for different-numbered expansion stages (e.g. st_custom##.rel) are compatible with each other, but module files with other names (e.g. st_plankton.rel) are not; they must be modified first. You can do this with BrawlBox or get custom .rel files from my site: http://lakora.us/rel.
In the stage list above, all included .rel files that aren't Final Destination .rels are noted (such as st_dxgarden.rel, the Jungle Japes file, being used for Great Bay).
One way to change which music each
stage uses is to edit the codes in Codeset.txt, then make a new .gct
file.
The base for the codes is this:
Stage-Dependent
Song Loader [Oshtoby]
28708ceb 000000SS
4A000000 90180F06
14000076 FF00YYYY
E0000000 80008000
Where SS is the two-digit stage ID and YYYY is the song you want to play. Lists of music filenames and music IDs should be included in this folder.
